Sir Christopher Pissarides is a Cypriot economist. He is a Professor of Economics and Political Science and the Regius Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, as well as a Professor of European Studies at the University of Cyprus.

His research focuses on macroeconomic policy, labour economics (labour economic growth), economic development, and economic policy. In 2010, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, jointly with Peter A. Diamond and Dale Mortensen, “for the analysis of markets with search frictions theory.”

He is a member of the British Academy and the Academy of Athens.
