What the Initiative Is
Komvos’s Space Science, Technology and Industry initiative seeks to create a framework for dialogue, documentation and collaboration around Greece’s potential within the space ecosystem.
Its aim is to highlight the people, institutions, research teams, businesses and networks that can contribute to shaping a more coherent and dynamic Greek presence in the field of space.
The Role of Komvos
Komvos does not seek to replace existing scientific, business or institutional actors. It operates in a complementary capacity, as a platform for connecting, showcasing and mobilising people and networks.
Through the komvos.space initiative, Komvos aims to bring together scientific knowledge, business innovation, education, culture and the diaspora within a shared framework for action.
Initiative Leads
The “Space Science, Technology and Industry” initiative is being developed on the basis of the contribution of two internationally distinguished figures, with recognised scientific standing and a long-standing contribution to space research:
Academic and distinguished Greek space scientist, with an internationally recognised contribution to the exploration of the Solar System and a long-standing presence in leading scientific organisations and space missions.
Distinguished Greek astrophysicist and planetary scientist, with significant international research activity in the study of planets, satellites and space missions.
Initiative Team
The initiative team brings together members and associates of Komvos with scientific, institutional and communications-related contributions to the development and advancement of the initiative:
Member of the Board of Directors of Komvos, with an active role in shaping and communicating the organisation’s initiatives.
Physician and researcher specialising in space medicine, with participation in international research missions and initiatives related to human presence and adaptation in extreme environments. He is a Corresponding Member of Komvos.
Planetary geologist and researcher with international activity in the study of planetary bodies and space missions. She participates in Komvos’s International Advisory Committee.
This composition reflects the character of the initiative: the connection of scientific excellence, international experience, global Hellenism, emerging research fields and institutional support. Its aim is the gradual development of a dynamic network around Greece’s presence in space science, technology and industry.
