3rd Working Conference of Komvos
The 3rd Komvos Working Conference has successfully concluded.
Another open invitation for dialogue, collaboration, and joint action in areas related to economics, biotechnology, sustainability, shipping, Artificial Intelligence, research, and the global Hellenism.

The 3rd Annual Working Conference of the Komvos – Networks of Global Hellenism successfully concluded on Friday, November 28, 2025, in a day filled with fruitful dialogue, exchange of ideas, and targeted interventions by distinguished members of the academic community, the business sector, and public institutions.
During the conference, seven thematic panels were held, one for each of Komvos’ active initiatives: Empowering Households in Their Financial Decisions, Biotechnology Hub, Shipping and Green Transition, Tourism and Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence and Inclusion, Space Science and Industry, and Global Hellenism and Research. A common thread throughout all interventions was the need for collaboration, networking, and methodical work to help strengthen Greece’s international presence.
Key speeches included those of the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Mr. Vasilis Kikilias, in the panel on the green transition in shipping; the Deputy Minister, Ms. Anna Karamanli, in the panel on Tourism through the lens of Sustainability; and the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Nikos Dendias, who closed the 3rd Komvos Conference.
Closing Speech by the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Nikos Dendias
The Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, delivered the conference’s closing speech, addressing the state of defense in Greece and the country’s new approach to its defense doctrine. At the end of his speech, he stepped down from the podium and engaged in an extensive discussion with the audience, which was primarily composed of members of the scientific community. His presence, direct engagement, and the discussion that followed represented one of the most significant moments of the conference.
The 3rd Komvos Conference highlighted the power of collaboration between the scientific community, businesses, and the public sector, confirming Komvos’ role as a platform for dialogue and initiative for Greece’s future. Through speeches, discussions, and panels, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, identify challenges, and shape prospects for critical sectors such as the economy, biotechnology, shipping, artificial intelligence, sustainable tourism development, space, and research. The conference demonstrated that Greece can play a leading role internationally by leveraging its geopolitical position, global outreach, and the expertise of its people.
