Node of Ideas, Greece 2025-2040

The Node of Ideas: Greece 2025–2040 initiative is an undertaking of the non-profit civil partnership KOMVOS – Networks of Global Hellenism, aiming to strengthen public dialogue around the major challenges and opportunities facing the country over the coming decades.

Cooperation and Support

The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with Naftemporiki and is based on the participation of Partners, corresponding members and collaborators of Komvos from Greece and abroad, who are invited to contribute through evidence-based articles, interventions and proposals.

Objective

The objective of the initiative is not to formulate general observations or aspirations, but to highlight specific priorities, reforms and strategic choices that can strengthen Greece’s resilience, outward orientation and international presence.

Article Themes

The articles cover a broad range of thematic fields, including:

  • research and innovation,

  • health and life sciences,
  • environment,

  • the Greek diaspora and
  • culture.

The initiative reflects in practice KOMVOS’s philosophy as a “think & act” organisation, seeking to connect knowledge with public intervention and the international experience of global Hellenism with the country’s needs and prospects.

Initiative Coordinators

The coordinators of the NODE OF IDEAS – GREECE 2025–2040 initiative are Athena Coustenis and Konstantinos Drosatos.

Athena Coustenis, Director of Research at CNRS and an internationally recognised scientist in the field of space sciences, and Konstantinos Drosatos, Secretary General of Komvos and a researcher in the field of cardiometabolic medicine, coordinate the initiative with the aim of establishing a stable framework for public dialogue on Greece in the period 2025–2040.

The initiative is based on the participation of KOMVOS partners, corresponding members and collaborators from Greece and abroad, seeking to connect scientific knowledge, international experience and public intervention.

Partners and members who wish to contribute articles within the framework of this initiative are kindly requested to contact Ms Christina Barlogianni, who is responsible for coordinating the publication of the articles.

Article Specifications for the NODE OF IDEAS Series

Articles should: Focus on targeted interventions rather than general aspirations. Include quantitative evidence (data, statistics, trends). Follow the structure of a proposal or reform-oriented direction. Articles should not exceed 600–700 words and should be accompanied by a relevant photograph or illustration. They will be signed with your name, professional title and your capacity as a member of KOMVOS (Partner / Corporate Member / Corresponding Member of the non-profit organisation KOMVOS – Networks of Global Hellenism). The thematic areas of the article series include: Education Economy – Industry Society Health – Medicine – Life Sciences Space Sciences Research – Innovation Energy Legislation – Justice International Relations Language – Culture Tourism Shipping Environment Technology Greek Diaspora.
