Komvos brings together people from Greece and Global Hellenism across science, the economy, technology and culture, creating connections that can develop into collaborations and action.
Existing initiatives, new ideas and different knowledge networks come together for a day of dialogue and working sessions around one shared question: how can Greece harness knowledge, innovation and its international networks to generate growth and added value?
Komvos has already developed an initial Concept Note for the komvos.space – Greece beyond Earth initiative, structured around space science and technology, industry, the global network of Greeks in space, education and entrepreneurship.
The Special Working Session will examine recent developments in Greece’s space ecosystem — from advances in research and the growth of Greek companies in the sector to preparations for Greece’s first crewed space mission, with Adrianos Golemis
Shipping in Transition
Finance, Innovation and Value Creation for Greece
Shipping’s green and technological transition is creating substantial financing needs while opening a new field of investment and business opportunities.
Fleet renewal, new technologies, the energy transition, and port and shipyard infrastructure are already at the centre of the Komvos Shipping Initiative.
Culture & Humanities
Culture and the humanities form one of the five main themes of this year’s Conference.
The focus and discussion themes are currently being developed.

Special Working Sessions
Smaller groups. A specific mission.
The Special Working Sessions are not parallel panels. Small groups of people with relevant expertise work on specific questions, identify potential collaborations and shape next steps. Their main conclusions are then reported back to the plenary.
Greece in the New Space Landscape
The working group will assess key developments in space science, technology and industry in Greece and examine the next phase of the komvos.space initiative.
The focus will include Greece’s space ecosystem, emerging businesses and collaborations, Greece’s first crewed space mission, and the updating or expansion of the existing Concept Note.
From imagining the future in space to helping shape it.

Artificial Intelligence, Education and Social Participation
Through the AI’nclusion initiative, Komvos explores the relationship between Artificial Intelligence, access to knowledge, education and social participation.
At the Conference, the discussion expands to critical technological literacy, the social challenges associated with AI, and the role of the social sciences and humanities.

Biotechnology Hub
From Idea to Plan. From Plan to Action?
Greece has significant scientific talent, a strong pharmaceutical industry and an international network of Greek scientists and executives active in leading organisations.
The Komvos Biotechnology Initiative / HeaL-SPRIT seeks to connect these strengths around the development of a Health and Life Sciences Park of Research, Industry and Training in Greece, bringing research, biomedicine, the pharmaceutical industry, education and business development closer together.
