Kostas Kostis is a professor of Economic and Social History at the Department of Economics at the University of Athens. He studied Economics at the University of Athens and Economic History at the Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, where he completed his doctoral thesis in 1985. In 1990, he was awarded the Nikos Svoronos Prize for Young Historians by the Institute of Technology and Research of the University of Crete. Since 2004, he has been a professor at the University of Athens, and since 1999, he has worked as a Management Consultant at Alpha Bank. From 2006 to 2009, he held the Chair of Modern and Contemporary Greek Studies at the Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales.
