Panos Karvounis, PhD in Law from the Panthéon Sorbonne University, has served as Head of the European Commission Delegation to Greece and as Special Advisor to the European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Pierre Moscovici.

He has also held positions as Senior Advisor, Director, Deputy Director-General, and Director-General at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Press and Communication. He was Director for “Small Businesses, Trade and Distribution, Cooperatives, Mutual Societies, Associations, and Foundations” at the Directorate-General for Enterprise Policy of the European Commission, Head of the “Energy Cooperation with Non-EU Countries” unit at the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission, Assistant Director-General for Energy at the European Commission, and Advisor to the French Ministry of Transport.
