The innovative and distinguished scientist Vasilis Ntziachristos has been honoured with the Beckurts Award for his groundbreaking research. The award recognizes his pioneering optical imaging technology, which provides high-resolution images beneath the skin’s surface, offering unprecedented depth compared to any other optical method. 

Ntziachristos’ method is now being applied worldwide in clinical studies aimed at detecting bodily changes linked to the development of cancer, diabetes, and other diseases. Vasilis Ntziachristos, a member of KOMVOS-NODE and a former member of its Board of Directors, has also received the European Innovation Award (ECS) for the same technology.
