Kostas Kostis, founding member of Komvos-Node, author, and professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, has assumed the role of Director of the Educational Foundation of the National Bank (MIET). 

The new director’s goal, according to his statements, is to “strengthen its leading role and presence in the Greek cultural landscape and successfully address the challenges of a rapidly changing world.” 

During the reception, Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank and MIET, after thanking Mrs. Louvi for her significant contribution to the modernization of MIET, stated, among other things: “… The now modernized MIET, responding to the demands of the digital age, is expanding its audience and continues to support and promote Greek culture, Greek letters, education, and research.” 

Kostas Kostis studied at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and later at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris, where he completed his doctoral dissertation. He then taught at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Athens and, since 2000, has been a professor at the Department of Economics at this very university. From 2006 to 2009, he held the Chair of Modern Greek Studies at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris, and for many years he was an Executive Advisor to Alpha Bank. He has authored numerous works in Greek and other languages.
