The Foundation for the Promotion of Journalism “Athanasios Botsis” awarded Anna Grimani with an Honorary Distinction for her work, Patridognosia: 100 Personalities of Hellenism Searching for Hellenicity. 

This quest is documented in Anna Grimani’s book, published by Gkovostis Editions, with sponsorship from NJV Athens Plaza, thanks to the initiative of the Plaza’s General Manager, Vana Lazarakou. 

The honorary event, organized by the Athanasios Botsis Foundation, took place at the Zappeion Megaron and was attended by the President of the Hellenic Republic. The award was presented to the journalist by Mr. Pavlos Christidis, representative of PASOK. 

Speaking about her work, Anna Grimani stated: 
“This is a rare gathering of different views – on a common theme – Greeks with significant influence, whose work and international presence substantiate the universality of a nation and the impressive dissemination of its culture worldwide.” 

The idea of Patridognosia started as a journalistic column in Kappa Magazine of Kathimerini, with the support of the then-director of the magazine, Socrates Tsihlias. 

Special mention should be made of the Emeritus Professor of the School of Fine Arts, painter Yiannis Psychopaidis, who contributed 14 of his works from the series Patridognosia: The Letter That Never Arrived for the publication. 

Many of the personalities featured in the publication travelled from all over the world to attend the event and honour the author. Some of them included: George-Stylianos Prevlakis from Paris, Kostas Drosatos from Cincinnati, Theodore Kofidis from Singapore, Nikos Kyrpides from San Francisco, Marily Mexi from New York.
