Dr. Maria Boile is Professor of Port and Intermodal Terminal Policy and Management at the Department of Maritime Studies, University of Piraeus, Director of the MSc in Shipping program and the Quantitative Analysis in Shipping Laboratory. She has served as Research Director at the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) of the National Center for Research and Technology in Greece, and the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in the US. She is Coordinator of the European Waterborne Technology Platform. She was recently appointed as a member of the “Standing Committee on Port Operations and Infrastructure” (AW011) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAS) in the United States. With over 30 years of international research and policy experience in transport, she has led and evaluated numerous high-profile projects and programs and received several prestigious awards and distinctions.
