As part of his official greeting, Angelos Chaniotis, Founding Member and Chairman of the Board of Komvos, highlighted how, in just four years, Komvos has evolved from a bold idea into an active organization that generates initiatives, builds partnerships, and participates meaningfully in public dialogue.

Referring to the rapid geopolitical and technological shifts of recent years, he emphasized that leveraging the global Greek community remains not only timely but absolutely necessary. He reminded the audience that Komvos was founded with the ambition to be more than a “think tank,” serving instead as an incubator for action, with advisory committees, international collaborations, and contributions to critical areas such as research, education, and the repatriation of scientists.

He highlighted the expansion of the organization, the support of its members and friends, as well as the backing of major sponsors—Piraeus Bank and the National Bank of Greece, which also hosted the conference—stressing that without their support, the advancement of these initiatives would not have been possible.

Closing with humor, he shared an anecdote: if something is repeated three times and nothing happens, it simply… becomes a habit. The same applies to Komvos: its conferences are no longer “miracles” but a steady habit that paves the way for initiatives with lasting impact.
