Critical Decisions for Shipping
Geopolitical developments, international maritime trade, the shipping industry, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and bank lending are the topics being addressed at the 8th Shipping Conference of Naftemporiki, titled “Critical Decisions.”
Distinguished guests from the maritime community will express their views on these topics and exchange ideas on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Stone Warehouse of the Port of Piraeus (OLP).
Komvos-Node is, of course, present at this conference, as Shipping is one of the most dynamic fields of Global Hellenism.
More specifically, the 8th session of the conference focuses on the influence of the Greeks abroad on national and global developments. This is the intervention of the non-profit organization Komvos-Node at the conference titled: “Komvos-Node – Networks of Global Hellenism: Shipping Networks & Port Nodes.” The intervention will be made by Hercules Haralambides– Professor of Maritime Economics and Logistics at Erasmus University, Netherlands, and a corporate member of Komvos-Node.
In addition to the intervention by Professor Hercules Haralambides, the Treasurer of Komvos-Node’s Board of Directors, Founder, and CEO of Neptune Leasing, Harris Antoniou will participate in the discussion on the relationship between shipping companies and banks.
This session explores the financing options and the corresponding challenges currently facing medium-sized shipping companies under the new ESG regulations (ETS–CII–EEXI–EEDI).
The discussion will be moderated by Nikos Daskalakis – General Director at Alpha Shipping Advisors Ltd.
