Christoforos Sardelis has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) since 2023.

He studied economics at the University of Stockholm, where he also taught for over a decade. He then took a position at the Swedish Central Bank (Riksbanken), initially as the head of the Research Department and later as Senior Adviser on Monetary Policy. Between 1992 and 1994, he served as an advisor to the European Commission on matters of monetary integration. At the same time, he represented the Swedish Central Bank in the EU Monetary Committee and in the OECD Economic Policy Committee.

Between 1999 and 2004, he served as the General Director of the Public Debt Management Agency, and between 2016 and 2022, he was the Chairman of Ethniki Insurance. In the meantime, he held senior positions in various investment banks (Handelsbanken, Bank of America, and Banca IMI).
