Christos Megalou is the Chief Executive Officer of Piraeus Financial Holdings and Chairman of the Group Executive Committee of Piraeus Bank. He has extensive experience in the financial sector, both in Greece and internationally, having held senior leadership roles in global banking and investment organizations.

Before assuming his current position, he served as CEO of Eurobank and held executive roles in London with Credit Suisse’s investment banking division, as well as with Barclays. He has also worked as a senior advisor to major international investment groups, including Advent International and Fairfax Financial Holdings.

His career spans a wide range of financial services — from internal audit and accounting to investment banking and strategic growth.

In parallel with his executive work, Christos Megalou actively participates in institutional bodies and industry organizations in Greece and abroad. He has served on the boards of banking associations and chambers of commerce, and holds advisory roles in academic and economic development institutions.

He holds a degree in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business and an MBA in Finance from the University of Aston in the United Kingdom.
