Christos Mylonopoulos is a professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and International Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens and a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Salzburg). He is the founder and president of the Institute of European and International Criminal Law, a member of the Scientific Council of the Hellenic Parliament, and a member of the Supreme Special Court (for two terms).

He taught as a visiting professor of International and European Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Munich and has served as the president or member of many legislative committees. He has published twelve books and over 70 articles in the field of Criminal Law in Greek, German, and English.

His works have been translated into Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, French, Italian, and Turkish.
