Costas Meghir is a Greek-British economist. He is an expert in Economics and Econometrics. He was a professor and head of the Department of Economics at University College London.

He is a Professor of Economics at Yale University. He is also a research affiliate of the NBER, a research affiliate of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) in the UK, a Fellow of the British Academy (FBA), a member of the Econometric Society, the European Economic Association, and the Labour Economists Society.

He collaborates with IZA and CEPR. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His main research interests include labor economics, human capital, household economics, and the design of taxation and welfare programs. He has participated in the evaluation of numerous public policy programs in the United Kingdom and in developing countries, including Colombia, Chile, and Senegal.

His recent research focuses on child development.
