Dimitri Papadimitriou is the Jerome Levy Professor of Economics of Bard College, Senior Scholar and President Emeritus of the Levy Economics Institute. He was Minister of Economy and Development of Greece from 2016 to 2018. He has testified on a number of occasions in hearings of Senate and House of Representatives Committees of the U.S. Congress, was vice-chairman of the Trade Deficit Review Commission of the U.S. Congress, and was a member of the Competitiveness Policy Council’s, Subcouncil on Capital Allocation. He was a distinguished scholar at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (PRC) in fall 2002. He is the author of many articles, has authored and edited 13 books and is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Economic Analysis, Challenge, and the Bulletin of Political Economy. He is Trustee and Chairman of the American Symphony Orchestra. Prof. Papadimitriou is a graduate of Columbia University and received a Ph.D. in economics from the New School for Social Research.
