Georgios I. Doukidis holds a degree in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), a Master’s degree in Operations Research, and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the London School of Economics (LSE).

He has worked at LSE as an Assistant in Operations Research, a Lecturer in Programming, and an Academic Visitor in Information Systems (1981-1993). He is currently a Professor of E-business at the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He was a visiting professor at Brunel University in the United Kingdom (1996-2004) and has taught at top European Business Schools. His expertise is in the areas of Digital Transformation, E-commerce, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. He is the founder and director of the ELTRUN Laboratory at AUEB, which, with its 35 researchers and 40 European R&D projects, is one of the largest at European Business Schools. He has collaborated with over 50 top research teams worldwide on R&D projects, supervised 19 successful Ph.D. students, and published 20 books and over 200 scientific articles.

He is currently a member of the Supreme Council of the National Authority for Higher Education and an independent member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Stock Exchange.
