Konstantinos Stratakis is the Scientific Director of ELPEN, Inc. in Athens and the Director of the Human Genetics and Precision Medicine Department at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH).

He served as the Scientific Director of the National Institute for Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States for nearly 11 years, leading one of the largest institutes at the NIH (2009-2020), before returning to Greece in 2021 to lead a new research institute.

Dr. Stratakis was honored with the 2019 Dale Medal from the Endocrine Society and many other prestigious awards. He is a visiting professor at the European University of Cyprus and a visiting professor at various institutions worldwide, co-editor of the journal Molecular & Cellular Endocrinology and other journals. He has published over 800 papers in leading journals, and his work has been cited more than 28,000 times.
