Doros Theodorou is a professor at the School of Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. After obtaining his PhD from the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT, he taught at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the University of Patras before joining NTUA.
His research focuses on the development and application of new hierarchical modeling methods to understand and predict the properties of materials based on their chemical structure. He represented Greece in the European Union’s researcher mobility program from 1995 to 2004. He has been a member of the National Council for Research, Technology, and Innovation (2010-2013, and since 2020).
He has received several significant awards and in 2015, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering of the United States. In 2019, he was elected as a regular member of the Academy of Athens.
