Komvos-Node’s panel on space science and industry, with the active participation of scientists and space program operators in Greece, highlighted the need and possibility of a new initiative by Komvos–Node. This initiative will aim to create an online platform which will include all organizations related to the space program, will provide the possibility to connect Greek scientists in Greece with prominent Greeks of the diaspora and, last but not least, will give insight on the ways the younger generations can be involved in the science and space industry.

- Robotic Exploration: The importance of robotic exploration was examined with examples from the Voyager 1 and 2 missions and their contributions to understanding the space environment beyond the Heliosphere.
- Human-centered exploration: The importance of human space exploration was discussed, focusing on the ability of astronauts to perform real-time diagnostics and assessments that robotic missions cannot perform.
- Impact on Daily Life: Examined the applications of space technologies in everyday life, such as cameras and cell phones, and how these technologies derive from space research and development.
- Geopolitical and economic dimensions: The discussion also expanded on the geopolitical significance of space exploration and its impact on the economy, with space being projected as an area of enormous economic value in the future.

Komvos-Node’s Initiative
This initiative by Komvos-Node is coordinated by Stamatis Krimizis – President of the Academy of Athens, honorary head of Space Exploration Division at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Director Emeritus of NASA Space Programs and founding member of Komvos-Node, and Athena Coustenis – Astrophysicist, Director of Research at the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), LESIA (Laboratoire d’études spatiales et d’instrumentation en astrophysique).
This discussion, held during the 2nd Annual Conference by Komvos-Node, was moderated by journalist and author Anna Grimani – founding member of Komvos-Node and member of the Board of Directors.
