Andreas Tzakis is the director of the Transplant Center at Cleveland Clinic Florida.

He is a pioneering transplant surgeon with a fundamental contribution to many aspects of the field, particularly in intestinal transplants, multivisceral transplants, and uterine transplants. He is a member of significant scientific and professional societies, holding leadership positions in these organizations. He served as a member of the Board of the International Pediatric Transplant Association, President of the Intestinal Transplantation Society, and Consultant for the Transplantation Society.

During his career, he performed the first series of piggyback liver transplants, which eliminated the need for port-port bypass, developed intestinal transplantation in children, transplantation for HIV-positive recipients, and transplantation of complex abdominal wall tissues.
